persistent pupillary membrane

Image
Japato- He is a rescue from last year's kitten season, hes just about a year old. When I got japato he had a severe upper respiratory infection and his eye was ulcered. With a lot of medication and eye drops we were able to keep the eye steady. Which is great because it was close to rupturing. It took a while but we "fixed" it.   And you're wondering koda how did you fix it if it looks like that?  He has what's called persistent pupillary membrane.  Pupillary membrane persistence, It is characterized by remnants of the fetal membrane that persist as filamentous tissue across the pupil. In general, this change does not cause any clinical signs. In most cases, there is no visual impairment, so treatment is not required.  In fewer words, his Iris is in his pupil.

Panleukopenia survivors.... they went on transport today. I'm very sad and happy at the same time. I had to work so hard to save them. I grew attached... but I can't keep them all.
