persistent pupillary membrane

Image
Japato- He is a rescue from last year's kitten season, hes just about a year old. When I got japato he had a severe upper respiratory infection and his eye was ulcered. With a lot of medication and eye drops we were able to keep the eye steady. Which is great because it was close to rupturing. It took a while but we "fixed" it.   And you're wondering koda how did you fix it if it looks like that?  He has what's called persistent pupillary membrane.  Pupillary membrane persistence, It is characterized by remnants of the fetal membrane that persist as filamentous tissue across the pupil. In general, this change does not cause any clinical signs. In most cases, there is no visual impairment, so treatment is not required.  In fewer words, his Iris is in his pupil.

Linus and Lucy

Panleukopenia survivors.... they went on transport today. I'm very sad and happy at the same time. I had to work so hard to save them. I grew attached... but I can't keep them all.

dipstick

Found the perfect family for dipstick! He's going to leave to the Seattle are soon!

Monday Frederick and dip stick

Image
I brought both Frederick and dipstick into the vet today.   we had Frederick the senior declawed cat viral tested as well as updated on vaccines/rabies. The vet estimates Frederick to be 9 years old.  He was negative for FIV/FELV!!! That is great.  He got a antibiotic for the uri. Dipstick got vaccinated and dewormed. Vet estimated him 7-8 weeks. Pretty healthy over all. But does need a surgery to remove a growth on his eye.

puppy rescue Sunday/monday

Image
Rescued a pit puppy from a crime seen at 1am.  Puppy was witness to a stabbing and a shooting.  I'm surprised the cops let me in the house to get the puppy. There was blood everywhere... even on the puppy. His name is dip stick probably 6 weeks old? Best guess.

Fredrick- Saturday

He's definitely house trained. He's quarantine in my bathroom till Monday for viral testing and antibiotics. He has a uri. He's a sweet old man I feel terrible someone declawed him and with no teeth... he had no means of defense while being outside.

Friday- Fredrick

I rescued a declawed senior cat. Also no teeth... No owner found as of yet but he's in ruff shape so he's been out on the streets a while. I named him Fredrick. He's very sweet.

cornflake

Image
Found this puppy eating trash out in wapato. No collar, no microchip. She had TERRIBLE tapeworms and was starving. Named her cornflake. Got her seen by a vet. She's 7 ish months and in decent shape considering.

moo update

Image
Took moo to the vet Monday she was thankfully negative for FIV/FELV (had her tested because the wound of her tail is actually a bite) fiv is contracted through deep bites or scratches. She got some antibiotics and is healing well.

My cat mushu (moo) was missing for 4 months. She's microchipped and had a collar on but I never heard anything. I thought my neighbors dog got to her. She came home last night all on her own! She has a wound on her tail and is super dirty but over all okay.
